Reduce Early Signs of Aging with Restylane® Injectable Treatments

A woman with youthful looking skin For patients who are unhappy with wrinkles around the nose and eyes, Dr. Roger J. Oldham provides Restylane® injections at his cosmetic practice in Bethesda, MD, serving the greater Washington, DCarea. Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler that diminishes wrinkles and lines for a smoother, more even skin tone. The solution is safe and effective, and the injection process is minimally invasive compared to surgical procedures such as a face lift. The treatment can help both men and women eliminate early signs of aging for a more youthful look. To achieve your desired results, Dr. Oldham takes exceptional care to select the injection sites that will most benefit from treatment.

What Can Restylane® Do for You?

Restylane® is a dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid. Your body naturally creates these molecules, making Restylane® especially safe. When injected into wrinkled areas around the nose and eyes, the hyaluronic acid attracts water molecules to the injection site. The extra moisture adds volume to the treatment area, plumping the skin and smoothing lines. Although the effects of Restylane® are temporary, most patients experience results for up to a year. Your results may begin to fade after a year, and you will need to retreat the area to maintain lasting results.

Restylane® is a safe and effective injectable dermal filler that diminishes wrinkles and lines for a smoother, more even skin tone.

Your Restylane® Consultation

When you meet with Dr. Oldham for your consultation, he will ask you about your goals for treatment and what you like and dislike about your appearance. This will help him better understand your needs. After carefully evaluating your desired treatment areas and reviewing your medical history, he can determine whether Restylane® is right for you.

Restylane® treatments typically take less than 30 minutes to complete. After cleansing the treatment area, we can apply a numbing cream to minimize discomfort. Most patients find the treatment only slightly uncomfortable. Once the numbing cream takes effect, Dr. Oldham will use a pre-filled syringe to inject the solution into the treatment area. The total number of injections you receive will depend on the number of areas requiring treatment.

At the conclusion of your treatment, you may return to work or your other daily activities. You may experience mild discomfort, bruising, or swelling for two to three days after treatment. This is normal and will go away. You should notice immediate enhancements in your appearance, but it may take a few days before you see the full effect of your treatment.

Why Choose Restylane®?

Despite being a temporary restoration, Restylane® is one of the longer lasting dermal fillers available. Results typically last for a full six months to a year before needing retreatment. Because hyaluronic acid naturally occurs within the body, it is safely absorbed as the results begin to fade. To maintain your results, you may need one to two treatments per year.

Which Dermal Filler is Right for You?

If early signs of aging have lowered your self-confidence, you could benefit from a dermal filler. Each dermal filler offers different benefits and results, so it is important to meet with Dr. Oldham to determine which option will benefit you most.
