In plastic surgery, facial rejuvenation surgery is one of Dr. Oldham's specialties and includes facelift, brow lift, neck lift, and eyelid surgery, also referred to as blepharoplasty. For more than 25 years, Dr. Roger J. Oldham has been performing each of these procedures for patients who feel their face’s appearance and expression doesn’t fully characterize how they feel inside. Blepharoplasty is particularly popular among men and women in their 40s and 50s, individuals who are still very young but who are dissatisfied with aging facial features.
When signs of aging become observable in the facial features, the eyes are often the first we notice. Because eyes are such an important part of our emotions and expressions, they begin to lose skin elasticity and can droop, sag, or develop bags over time. These signs of aging are very difficult to treat with blepharoplasty alternatives like Botox or injectable fillers. While areas around the eyes (between the brows, for example) can be treated using Botox, Juvederm, or Radiesse, the lids themselves will not be able to regain elasticity without the removal of excess skin and fat pockets. With blepharoplasty, the upper lids, lower lids, or both can be targeted and treated. By removing excess skin, Dr. Oldham is able to revive the eyes and rejuvenate them to a much more youthful look, as evident in these patients before and after blepharoplasty (eyelid lift surgery).
You probably have additional questions about the benefits of blepharoplasty. If you’ll contact our office, our patient counselor Janet can provide you with a blepharoplasty cost estimate. She can also schedule your cosmetic consultation with Dr. Oldham and will personally assist you from your first appointment to the day of surgery and after.
