Skin care and enhancement through Microdermabrasion: Available in Bethesda

Dr. Roger J. Oldham, board certified plastic surgeon, has been performing non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatments like microdermabrasion and chemical peel for 25+ years.  Washington D.C. plastic surgeons may perform facelift surgery and other more invasive procedures alone, but Dr. Oldham also has a wide range of minimally-invasive anti-aging procedures and treatments available. When advising patients during their 30-minute personal consultation, Dr. Oldham takes a considerable amount of time, which is spent individually with each patient to determine which treatment—microdermabrasion or chemical peel—will provide the most effective anti-aging results.  Dr. Oldham offers Bethesda patients the assistance of an experienced aesthetician who provides microdermabrasion and chemical peel options, as well as a variety of other skin enhancement treatments.

Unfortunately, our skin is where we show aging.  It's our means of interacting with the world, through gentle touches, loving kisses, and a range of facial expressions.  When aging begins to present in the skin, for whatever reason, there are two options for rejuvenating treatment that cannot be achieved with at-home or even spa center care: microdermabrasion and chemical peel.  Microdermabrasion is a healthy skincare treatment that completely renews the skin cells.  By using microscopic abrasive beads, microdermabrasion clears away dead skin, and targets blemish-causing dirt deeper in the skin.  Slight redness is apparent after treatment but it disappears within a few hours and is easily covered with makeup immediately. A chemical peel achieves similar results but through a different technique.  Rather than working from the surface via an instrument, as microdermabrasion does, chemical peel is applied to the face in a topical treatment.  The unique chemical treatment in a chemical peel also removes dead skin and dirt in the skin’s pores, ensuring that the healthiest, youngest-looking skin returns to the surface.
