Ear pinning (Otoplasty): Positive psychological effects of earlier surgery with Dr. Roger J. Oldham

When Dr. Roger J. Oldham became a plastic surgeon more than 25 years ago, he wanted to care for patients through procedures that helped enhance their self-image and solidified their self-confidence. Dr. Oldham’s experience since then has had nothing but positive results, especially when procedures like Otoplasty (reshaping of the ear) are performed earlier.  Several patients have considered otoplasty (ear pinning) for themselves or their children because of these positive psychological effects.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (unlike the American Board of Plastic Surgery which certifies Dr. Oldham), is an organization whose sole purpose is to uphold surgical standards and study the effects of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures and surgical techniques. Their findings related to early surgery have been very positive, noting the ability of even very young patients to see themselves in a more positive light years later as their self-image of adulthood begins to solidify.  Before teasing can take its toll, consider the pleasing results after otoplasty with Dr. Oldham.

During your personal consultation with Dr. Oldham, you will meet the doctor to discuss the procedure and what you/your loved ones would like to achieve through the otoplasty procedure. Dr. Oldham will then conduct a brief examination and explain the surgery completely so that a common understanding of desired results is shared.
