For more than two decades, Dr. Roger J. Oldham has been caring for men and women with his developed skills in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. Dr. Oldham is a board certified surgeon through the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and is an active member of the Washington D.C. community. In fact, he was honored to be able to serve as president of the National Capital Society of Plastic Surgeons. During his career as a plastic surgeon, Dr. Oldham has cared for patients of all ages, including children who elect, along with their parents, for Otoplasty (reshaping of the ear). Otoplasty, however, isn’t exclusive to children.
Ear pinning surgery (otoplasty) is a surgical procedure which can help reshape the ear so that it protrudes less from the sides of the head. Sometimes the shape of our ears might seem disproportionate when viewed next to other facial features. Ear pinning is a very simple procedure that can lessen the degree of this protrusion. Typically, Dr. Oldham performs the otoplasty procedure through an incision behind the ear, along its natural fold. From this incision site, the ear cartilage is reshaped and Dr. Oldham is able to reposition the ear to rest more naturally against the head, as seen in these patients before and after ear pinning surgery (otoplasty) with Dr. Oldham.
