Dr. Roger J. Oldham is board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and has been caring for patients for more than 25 years. Among the most popular procedures sought by patients relate to facial rejuvenation and the treatment of aging features in the face (neck lift, brow lift, blepharoplasty, and Facelift ). Since every patient is unique, both in their beauty and desires, several procedure options are available including the traditional full facelift procedure, and a mini facelift procedure. What’s the difference?
A mini facelift is often the ideal surgical procedure to give the best possible result when aging features are minor and laxity in the neck is mild, without needs of treatment. While there’s no “border” where treatment stops, a mini facelift primarily treats the lower facial features only. Some patients who have a lot of hanging skin in the lower face and neck would probably not get the result they are looking for with a mini facelift and might need a more advanced facelift technique. With a traditional full facelift, lower facial features and the neck are treated, so that every feature from the chin and neck contours to the brow is treated and smoothed, as seen in these patients before and after facelift surgery photos.
