Breast Augmentation Surgery: Cost/Benefit Ratio by Dr. Roger J. Oldham, Bethesda Cosmetic Surgeon

For more than 25 years, Dr. Roger J. Oldham, board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, has been advising women in Bethesda regarding breast surgery (breast augmentation, breast lift, combined breast lift and augmentation, and breast reduction).  For some women, overlarge breasts are problematic, for other women, they feel the size of their breasts to be inadequate and either too small or simply not proportional to their body’s shape and contours.  When women elect for breast implant surgery, they often come to the consultation with questions for Dr. Oldham, including the cost/benefit ratio of breast augmentation plastic surgery.

With breast augmentation surgery, the benefits for women are well-publicized. Women feel more confident with larger breasts, and gain self-confidence with their new breasts.  Some women seek augmentation to balance asymmetrical breasts and breast augmentation provides real relief and satisfaction for these women as well. The benefits for women’s body image and self-esteem is clearly evident.  The costs include financial investment and the surgical recovery itself.  Surgical recovery will also be discussed during the consultation itself.  Recovery following breast augmentation is much less uncomfortable with the improved surgical techniques that he now employs.  Breast augmentation recovery is usually four to five days, after which time, most patients are comfortable going back to work.
